Dr Abdullah is a Visiting Consultant in Upper GI and Esophageal Surgery at NMC Specialty Hospital, Al Hail and also attached to Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Center.

He completed his MD from Sultan Qaboos University and finished MRCS degree (Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons) in 2010. He completed his residency in general surgery and obtained DES in general surgery from University of Montpellier, France.

He also holds fellowship in Upper GI, Esophageal and Bariatric Surgery and obtained DESC from University of Montpellier and Clermont Ferrand France.

He has also obtained national diploma of Laparoscopic surgery from University of Montpellier, national diploma of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery from University of Strasbourg, national diploma of Robotic digestive surgery from university of Strasbourg and national diploma of GI oncology from University of Paris Descartes.

• Bariatric Surgery (Sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en- Y Gastric Bypass surgery).
• Upper GI surgery (e.g., antireflux surgery, heller’s myotomy for achalasia, gastric outlet obstruction).
• Oncological Surgery (Esophageal, gastric or other GI cancers).
• Laparoscopic surgery (e.g., abdominal wall hernias TEP & TAPP and laparoscopic cholecystectomy).
• Actively involved in surgical training of OMSB general surgery residents and SQU medical students teaching.
